The Excel simple format

The "Excel simple" format is one of several formats that can be used to import data into PATGuard Cloud.


Use the "Download Simple Template" button to download a sample file. It contains a single sheet with typically used fields and a few rows of sample data. You can fill in the template with your own data and then import the data by uploading the file on the "Import Database" page shown above.

The following fields can be used in this format. Most fields are optional.

"Test Date", "Last Full Test Date" or "Last Test" Values in this field must be dates. Recommended using ISO format of YYYY-MM-DD e.g. 2021-07-14 for 14th of July, 2021Mandatory if test information is included - not required if updating asset information only.
"Pass/Fail" or "Status"Values in this field should be "P", "Pass", "F", "Fail", "I" or "Information"Mandatory if test information is included - not required if updating asset information only.
"Test Name"For example "Full Visual".
"Test Notes"

"Retest (Months)"Values in this field must be a number, for example "3" for a three months retest period.
"Test Tag"

"Asset Make"

"Asset Model"

"Asset Serial"

"Instrument"

"Instrument Serial"

"Category" or "Type"

"Standard"The standard against which the asset was tested
"Procedure Reference"

"Person"The name of the person carrying out the testing
"Test"Extended test information. If used, this must be followed by columns "Result", "Unit" and "Status". For example: Test: "Differential Leakage", Result: "0.21", Unit: "mA", Status: "Pass".
"End of Life"Asset end of life date.
"Old Asset Id"Specify this to assign a new asset id to an existing asset. This column specifies the old asset id. Use the Asset Id column to specify the new asset id.
"Option_Updateasset"If set to "true", this instructs PATGuard Cloud to overwrite existing asset details from import data. Normally, importing data will not change existing PATGuard Cloud data, but only add new data such as new tests or new assets.
